The Benzie County Road Commission is seeking bids for the following 2.15 miles of 3/4" Ultra Thin Overlay or 1" HMA Alternate at three locations in Benzie County. Bid documents are available here and can be obtained at the Road Commission office. Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 by the County Road Commission of Benzie County at their office at 11318 Main St, Honor, MI 49640. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. (Posted 7-31-2015)

Spring Weight Restriction Notice for 2015 Effective Monday, April 20th, 2015 at 7:00 AM, Seasonal Weight and Speed Restrictions will be lifted on all Benzie County Roads. If there are any questions, you may contact the Road Commission at 231-325-3051. For immediate updates on Weight Restrictions, dial extension 248. For additional information, dial extension 201. We've just added a new Transparency page, as required by the State of Michigan, Public Act 51 of 1951, amended. Transparency keeps citizens continuously informed about the activities of the BCRC. On that page you'll find financial reports, budget information, and other required links and documents. (Posted 8-05-2014)
In order to rid the roadsides of diseased, damaged, and leaning trees, the Benzie County Road Commission is participating in an ongoing tree removal operation. If you see that trees have been marked along the road frontage of your property, this means the Road Commission will be removing those trees. If you want the wood left behind for your own use, you must call the Road Commission at 231-325-3051 as soon as possible to make this known to us. The wood will be set off the road right-of-way for you. If you do not make your wishes known, all debris will be removed from the area. (Posted 5-31-2014)
