September 15, 2014 Temporary Winter Truck Drivers Needed The Benzie County Road Commission will accept applications for Temporary Winter Truck Drivers until all positions are filled. Applicants must have a current, valid CDL, Class A with air brake endorsement. Snowplowing experience is desired. Openings are available from November 2014 through March 2015. We offer 40 hours per week at $16.00 per hour. Overtime may be required at times. These positions also require a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled road maintenance work along with operating a variety of trucks and small equipment in the maintenance and repair of state and county roads. August 5, 2014 We've just added a new Transparency page, as required by the State of Michigan, Public Act 51 of 1951, amended. Transparency keeps citizens continuously informed about the activities of the BCRC. On that page you'll find financial reports, budget information, and other required links and documents.
May 31, 2014 In order to rid the roadsides of diseased, damaged, and leaning trees, the Benzie County Road Commission is participating in an ongoing tree removal operation. If you see that trees have been marked along the road frontage of your property, this means the Road Commission will be removing those trees. If you want the wood left behind for your own use, you must call the Road Commission at 231-325-3051 as soon as possible to make this known to us. The wood will be set off the road right-of-way for you. If you do not make your wishes known, all debris will be removed from the area.
November 6, 2013 The Benzie County Road Commission would like to thank the community for its support in the recent millage request. We appreciate the opportunity to improve our road system! Please see our millage request brochure to see the proposed road improvements. (It also provides many useful facts you may not know about how the Road Commission is funded and what the Road Commission does.)

During the winter snowplowing season, it's important that all residents be aware of special issues during winter operations. See here for details.
