Mechanics – The Benzie County Road Commission is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mechanic. This is a full-time position. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid Class A CDL is preferred but not required. Applicants must be certified with the State of Michigan in Heavy Duty Engine Repair-Diesel/Gas, Drive Train, Brakes and Braking Systems, and Suspension-Steering Systems, or be able and willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date. Previous work experience with similar equipment is desired. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Temporary Seasonal Summer Work – The Benzie County Road Commission is seeking qualified applicants to fill two positions for temporary seasonal summer work. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and a high school diploma or GED. This position will be 40 hours a week from June through August. Starting wage is $11.00/hour. Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Truck Driver — The Benzie County Road Commission is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Truck Driver. Applicants must have a current, valid CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement, and be able and willing to obtain a Class A endorsement within 6 months of hire date. Snow plowing experience is a plus. Starting wage is $17.96/hour. Applications are available above or at the Road Commission office.
